Our Progress

We are proud to have published our first Social Value Report, highlighting the needs in the areas of our office locations, and are supporting the development of this work through our Social Value Committee.

This year we launched our CBRE Cares platform which allows colleagues to promote volunteering opportunities and track hours spent volunteering with a variety of organisations.

We continued our successful partnership with Macmillan and in 2022 fundraised £439,435. We also continued our partnership with CDP, where we support our suppliers with the sustainable supply chain school, helping to reduce emissions across our supply chain.

Our Approach

Provide industry leadership that grows our business in socially responsible ways

Leverage opportunities to influence our suppliers whilst mitigating supply chain risks

Conduct business with the highest standards by reflecting our RISE values of Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence

Deliver a strategic and co-ordinated communities and giving programme which will effectively monitor and measure our inputs, outputs and impact

Case Studies

In June 2022, members of CBRE UK NextGen collectively travelled the distance between Kyiv and Henrietta House (2,345km) in a week of cycling, walking and running. The five-day event was organised to help raise funds for the British Red Cross, a charity that continues to play an integral role in supporting communities on the ground in Ukraine. CBRE Charitable Trust contributed £500 to the fundraising.

In the summer of 2022, Rob did a solo bike ride from London to Germany to raise money for Macular Society, a charity providing support and research on macular dystrophy, a rare genetic eye disorder that causes vision loss which Rob’s close friend had recently been diagnosed with. Overall, £6,140 was raised including £1,250 from CBRE’s Charitable Trust.

Our Charitable Partnership

Our fundraising unlocked £3,960,684 in financial support for people living with cancer, ranging from carer’s allowance, Universal Credit and Macmillan Grants.

Money was raised through various staff activities, including:

Capital Advisors Three Peak challenge, Coffee mornings, Cornwall cost mighty hike, Row 50, English Channel Swim, Chase the Sun cycle ride, A&T charity bingo

In addition, CBRE volunteered 2,195 hours, becoming Macmillan’s most engaged corporate volunteers. 466 colleagues and 106 charity champions helped to deliver these hours. This included 22 employees volunteering as Telephone Buddies lending emotional support to someone affected by cancer making a total of 308 calls and supporting 47 people living with cancer. The Winter Warmer campaign also provided support against financial hardship for families living with cancer, with 65 colleagues volunteering to pack, collect and deliver items across the UK, 85 children’s craft bags were created from generous donations from colleagues’ children at the Christmas party, and 100 care packages were delivered to hospitals across the UK. £2,000 was fundraised which could fund emergency grants for people struggling with the price of energy.

To support London Marathon runners, in October 2022 CBRE’s Canary Wharf office provided facilities for the Macmillan fundraising and challenge events team.

We are proud to continue our partnership with Macmillan Cancer. In 2022 we raised £439,435, contributing to a total raised of £730,870 throughout our three year partnership.
