CBRE’s latest report reviews whether key European markets have experienced a lasting e-commerce growth effect as a result of COVID, and the associated implications for retail real estate. Key highlights include:

    • Europe’s top six e-commerce markets account for over 70% of total European e-commerce spending
    • Most markets have returned to, or are behind, their pre-pandemic trend rate of e-commerce growth. Spain is an outlier, having grown almost a year ahead of trend

    • Footfall and tenant sales across European retail assets have largely recovered, and continue to improve

European Real Estate Market Outlook 2024

    January 11, 2024

    europe-real-estate-outlook-2024

2023 was a year of weak economic growth across most of Europe, with households and businesses burdened by the effects of elevated inflation and a sharp interest rate hiking cycle.

  • New ways of working, more cautious corporate spending and a surge in new office supply are combining to transform Hong Kong's office landscape. Amid the record-high vacancy rates, landlords should reassess their leasing strategies and approach to space utilisation and asset management to maximise occupancy of their portfolios. Landlords of mature office buildings located in prime business districts maintain their current position, whereas owners of smaller buildings in less sought after locations should consider adopting a hub-centric approach to attract tenants within a specific industry ecosystem, according to CBRE Hong Kong’s latest research report “Vertical Urban Ecosystem: Reinvigorating Hong Kong's Office Buildings”.

  • Shopping Centre Leidsche Rijn

Maven Real Estate has acquired the Leidsche Rijn Centrum (LRC) shopping centre in Utrecht in the Netherlands.
