Islam Ibrahim is an Associate Director for CBRE's European Forecasting team, which produces forecasts for the key commercial real estate sectors across Europe. As a real estate economist, he develops econometric frameworks that link real estate performance to the wider economy, and translates them into investment committee-ready analysis. He also contributes to AI integration and data science initiatives. His work helps clients understand market dynamics and supports their investment strategy and capital allocation decisions.
Islam holds a Doctor of Science in Real Estate Finance and an MSc in Real Estate Economics. His doctoral research focused on portfolio strategies and the cost of capital. His work is published in leading real estate journals, and he serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics and the Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management.
Prior to his research career, Islam spent several years in real estate development and construction management across various property sectors. As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), he managed project delivery and worked on feasibility studies, budgets and development schedules. This hands-on experience gives him a practical perspective on how markets and assets behave. Outside work he enjoys diving, camping and paddle tennis.
