Frasers Group, a leading international retail group, is further expanding its presence in the Netherlands with the opening of nine new Sports World shops by the end of 2024. These new shops will replace former Perry Sport and Sprinter shops, avoiding possible vacancy and preserving more than 8,000 sqm of retail space.
As of today, five new Sports World shops have already opened, in addition to those already existing. This year's first shop opened on 13 July 2024 in Stadshart Amstelveen, followed by shops in Zwolle, Almere, Assen and Nijmegen. Four new locations will be opened by the end of this year in the cities of Arnhem, Tilburg, Amsterdam and Breda.
James France, Chief Acquisition Officer, Frasers Group said: “These openings mark a pivotal moment for the Group as we continue to expand and invest in the Netherlands, both organically and through M&A. The Netherlands is a key strategic market in our international expansion ambitions. Through our successful Elevation Strategy, these Sports World stores will deliver engaging, innovative shopping experiences for consumers and an unparalleled selection of the world’s best sport and leisure brands, reaffirming our position as an undisputed leader in sport retailing. We are committed to bringing the very best brands, environments, and experiences to key retail destinations globally.”
