Carl is the Global Lead for sustainability in CBRE's advisory Property Management business, which is responsible for the management of approximately 2.9bn square feet of real estate, comprising almost 19,000 individual properties, in 41 countries worldwide.
Joining CBRE in 2019 Carl devised, developed, and implemented a suite of sustainability services with the primary aim of standardising the approach to the collection of data increasingly being requested by clients. In turn, this enables specialist teams to leverage those data, highlighting sustainability risks and opportunities within the portfolios managed for Property Management's investor clients and supporting them to accelerate their sustainability goals. Initially developed for use in the UK, Carl has evolved and deployed these services across the CBRE Property Management business globally, ensuring best practice is shared between regions, and consistency in service delivery for multi-national portfolios.
As a member of CBRE's global sustainability leadership team, Carl leverages his insights from implementing sustainability into property operations to inform organizational strategy. He also ensures accurate and comprehensive reporting of Property Management's footprint, contributing to the achievement of CBRE's organizational goals.
With over 25 years’ experience working in sustainability, the past 17 spent in the Real Estate sector, Carl is a highly experienced sustainability leader. He specialises in the development and implementation of solutions and services to improve the performance of Real Estate assets, funds, and portfolios around the world. His experience has been acquired through roles in consulting, commercial real estate development, and more recently in property management; working on both owner-operators and managing agent assignments.
