CBRE Residential Tenant Survey 2022
At CBRE, we want to know more about what tenants need, so we can help shape the future of renting.
We wanted to understand current tenant priorities and experiences when renting a property in the UK and how these may have evolved over recent years. Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey.
The competition is now closed as of 17th June 2022.
1. The Promoter
The promoter is: CBRE Limited of Henrietta House, Henrietta Place, London, W1G 0NB.
2. The Competition
2.1 The title of the competition is “UK Residential Tenant Survey Contest”.
2.2 Win a Series 7 Apple Watch by completing our short tenant survey (the “Survey”). We’re curious to know what appeals to you when renting a property, it’s quick and easy only taking around 10 minutes.
3. How to enter
3.1 The competition will run from 11th May 2022 (the "Opening Date") to 11th June 2022 (the "Closing Date") inclusive.
3.2 All competition entries must be received by the Promoter by submitting the Survey no later than midnight on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
3.3 To enter the competition, you will need to provide a valid email address and complete the Survey by the Closing Date.
3.4 There is no charge to complete the Survey.
3.5 The Promoter will not accept:
- responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
- proof of transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.
3.6 By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.
3.7 The winner of the competition will be determined by neutral and independent prize draw software.
4.1 In order to participate in the competition, you must:
- Be a UK resident aged 18 years or over;
- Rent a residential property;
- Provide a valid email address;
- Answer fully and correctly all the questions included in the Survey.
4.2 The competition is not open to:
- employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies;
- employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
- members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.
4.3 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
4.4 The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are:
- automatically generated by computer;
- completed by third parties or in bulk;
- illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with; or
4.5 There is a limit of one entry to the competition per household. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
4.6 The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.
4.7 Competition entries cannot be returned.
5. The prize
5.1 The prize is one Series 7 Apple Watch. There is no cash alternative for the prize.
5.2 The prize is supplied by the Promotor. The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter's control makes it necessary to do so.
5.3 The prize is not negotiable or transferable.
6.1 The decision of the independent prize draw software is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
6.2 The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner as soon as practicable after the Announcement Date, using the telephone number or email address provided with the competition entry.
6.3 The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will publish the name of the winner on https://www.cbre.co.uk on 17th June 2022 (Announcement Date).
6.4 If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoter (FAO [email protected]). In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
7. Claiming the prize
7.1 In order to claim the prize, you must provide the Promoter with confirmation of your email address and provide an address within the UK for the prize to be sent to within 14 days of being notified that you have been selected as the winner (for which purposes, notification may take the form of an email having been sent to the email address provided, or a phone call or a voicemail to the contact number you provided with your entry). If you do not claim the prize within this time period, your claim will become invalid. In such circumstances, a new draw will take place.
7.2 Following provision of the details required by clause 7.2 above, please allow 28 days for delivery of the prize.
7.3 The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
7.4 The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
8. Limitation of liability
8.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
8.2 The Promotor is not responsible for the winning prize supplied to the winner. Warranty and other terms and conditions regarding the prize shall be governed by the ones from the manufacturer or the general legislation. Any claim for defects affecting the winning prize must be addressed exclusively to the manufacturer.
9. Ownership of competition entries and intellectual property rights
9.1 The Promoter does not claim any rights of ownership in your competition entry.
9.2 You agree that the Promoter may use your survey responses for research purposes. Please be assured that all responses will be aggregated and anonymised.
10. Data protection and publicity
10.1 The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in our Global Web Privacy and Cookie Notice and as supplemented by the CBRE Privacy Notice (below). See also condition 6.3 and condition 6.4, with regard to the announcement of winners.
11.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
11.2 The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
11.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
This Tenant Survey Supplementary Privacy (“Notice”) is issued by CBRE Limited with respect to our Tenant Survey. This Notice will help you understand our data collection and handling practices when you provide CBRE with your Personal Data for these purposes.
This document supplements our Privacy Notice and applies where we act as Data Controller (as defined in the General Data Privacy Regulation (EU) 2016/679) for the purposes listed below.

2. Sources from Whom We Collect Personal Data
We collect and process Personal Data directly from you when you submit your response to the Tenant Survey.
3. Consequences of Not Providing Personal Data
Failure to provide such Personal Data may mean you are ineligible for winning the competition. Please see the Competition Terms and Conditions for more details.
4. Sharing of Personal Data
We will only share your data in limited circumstances, and internally within CBRE. Personal Data will be aggregated and anonymized if shared with other third parties (e.g. CBRE clients) when providing the outcome of our research.
5. International Transfers
CBRE is a global organization. Accordingly, CBRE employees and the third parties identified above may be located in a country other than your own. Additionally, data in our systems may be stored in third countries, on CBRE or third-party platforms. CBRE employs appropriate safeguards to protect your Personal Data when transferred to or accessed from other countries.
6. Legally Compelled Disclosure
We may be required to disclose your Personal Data to governmental and regulatory authorities, law enforcement agencies, courts and/or litigants when legally compelled to do so, for example, in response to a court order, or other lawful, legally binding request, including to meet national security or law enforcement agencies requirements, or in connection with legal proceedings or similar processes as necessary to exercise or defend our legal rights.
CBRE is committed to not disclose your Personal Data in response to an international court order or a subpoena or other legal obligation unless we are legally compelled to do so under applicable law.
7. Retention of Personal Data
We will retain your personal data for a period of two years after the competition. This is retained in order to allow us to return to and validate our aggregated research results.
8. How We Secure Personal Data
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to safeguard the Personal Data we collect and process about you against loss and unauthorized alteration or disclosure.
Where we share your Personal Data with our service providers, we have assessed that their technical and organizational measures provide an appropriate level of security and have also entered into agreements with them requiring the confidentiality and security of your data.

You may have certain rights with respect to your Personal Data under applicable law. Please refer to the applicable Master Employee Privacy Notice for your country to learn more about your rights and how to exercise them.
