This year CBRE launched the Northern Ireland Investment Fund, a £100m debt platform focusing on investment into real estate, regeneration, low carbon and infrastructure projects. The Fund is managed by Capital Advisors on behalf of the Department of Finance and the Northern Ireland Strategic Investment Board. Supported by the Investment Properties team in Northern Ireland, CBRE has been appointed to manage the Fund for 15 years and will oversee a minimum of two full investment cycles. Having reached the end of the first year for the Fund, the team has already invested 40% of the initial allocation having recently closed on the second loan. The first loan, made earlier this year, was a £22.5m senior debt facility for the development of Merchant Square in central Belfast.
