November Edition: Recovery Tracker, The Operational Real Estate Market, brings together a selection of economic, mobility and trading market data to assess how recovery in this market is progressing.

As England heads into our second national lockdown what will our industries have learnt from March that may ease the impact?

Key points include:

  • EU Consumer Confidence - France and Germany both saw upturns in June which continued into September. Spain still lags the group (having been the most confident in July 2019) but the UK has shown some flattening in the last month.
  • Air Traffic - Heathrow announced it is no longer the busiest airport in Europe.
  • Eating And Drinking Out - EOTHO drove Monday to Wednesday food sales significantly compared to August 2019 and sales grew week on week but it seems to have taken from Thursday to Sunday trade in that period and there are mixed views as to the long-term impact.
  • Self Storage – Updates from the major operators remain positive and shares continue to rise.
