• Unemployment remained near historic lows for the Oklahoma City metro to end 2019, and state-wide retail spending has also displayed modest growth. According to the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission, total retail sales for the state rose to an estimated $3.55 billion in November.

 

  • After a slight dip into negative territory during Q3 2019, net absorption rebounded in Q4 2019 with 39,461 sq. ft. for the quarter.

 

  • Investment sales softened in Q4 2019, with $18.3 million in sales recorded during the quarter. On the other hand, annual investment sales for Oklahoma City amounted to $155 million in 2019, a $14 million increase over the 2018 sales volume.

 

  • New clothing and apparel retailers continue to arrive in Oklahoma City, bringing a variety of new shopping options to the metro area. A few of the newest additions include REI, an outdoor clothing and equipment company, as well as Tecovas, a Texas-based western footwear company.
