About the client
Grattacielo Intesa Sanpaolo was opened in 2015, and is Italy’s third highest tower. Designed by world-renowned architect Renzo Piano (who also designed the Shard), it was developed to reach the highest environmental standards, in both its construction and ongoing operation. It is the only high-rise building in Europe to hold LEED Platinum certification.
The skyscraper is the new headquarters for Intesa Sanpaolo Group, Italy’s leading banking group, with 12 million customers and over 4,600 branches.
The tower has 7,000 sqm of occupied area, 100,000 sqm of internal surfaces, 38 floors above ground and six below, 25 lifts and 2,000 occupants. Unusually, much of the building is open to the public, with an auditorium, exhibition space, rooftop restaurant and garden. The challenge is to balance bank-level security with community openness.
Geico Lender (now part of CBRE) was appointed to provide hard and soft facilities management services within the tower. These include Operation and Maintenance of all technological assets; Building Management Systems (BMS); Energy Management; Reception; Concierge; Surveillance; Cleaning and Environmental Services. Services are provided by a team of 22 people who guarantee coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
CBRE’s technological skills and solutions create added value for Intesa Sanpaolo at the Tower. The building’s custom-built integrated workplace management system (IWMS) allows us to manage every aspect of the building throughout the lifecycle, improving operational, financial and environmental performance. It also allows real-time information exchange for optimal response and data insights.
The Tower has become a true landmark in Turin; a state-of-the art financial headquarters, as well as a public building for the community.
“We request so many things, so what is important for the bank is to have a partner that is able to manage these requests.”
