What attracted you to a career at CBRE?
It’s a bit of an unusual one… Before my masters I didn’t know what opportunities or careers there were in property at all. Just before I started my masters, I was watching the rugby with my dad, and a CBRE sponsorship came up – which made me explore it further and get some work experience in CBRE’s lease consultancy, which I loved so much that I applied for the graduate scheme!
What have you enjoyed the most since working at CBRE? (this doesn’t have to be work, extra-curricular activities as well at CBRE)
Becoming experienced in Central London property markets – in my first year I was in the City Valuations team, so got to inspect some of the most iconic buildings in London.
Describe a typical day at work?
I start by meeting with my line manager to discuss the week/day and deadlines or targets. I am most productive in the morning so I know that this is when I get the most done, most meetings or property inspections I also try to get done in the morning. I always try to get away from my desk at lunch, even just for a walk around St Paul’s Cathedral, or try to squeeze in a lunchtime run.
What is your key piece of advice for someone applying?
You work to your best ability when you are your true self.
