Daniel SalakoWhat attracted you to a career at CBRE?
CBRE is the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm, and has one of the most successful graduate programmes. The ability to rotate between different teams and be exposed to a range of work appealed to me as it highlighted the rounded nature of experience I would receive to help me with my learning and development.

What have you enjoyed the most since working at CBRE? (this doesn’t have to be work, extra-curricular activities as well at CBRE)

As a graduate I have been fortunate to work with prestigious clients on a range of properties both domestically and internationally across a variety of asset classes. Such experiences have given me a rounded foundation to build on as I embark on my Assessment of Professional Competence.

Describe a typical day at work?

Although cliché, it is true that no two days are alike. As a graduate I have worked with different service lines to provide a range of building surveying services across a variety of asset classes at all stages of the property lifecycle. From listed buildings in London, to new-builds in Singapore, a typical day can lead to me being anywhere at any time.  The breadth of work and responsibility placed in me as a graduate on a daily basis has not only allowed me to achieve my APC competencies but also grow as a rounded professional both on-site and in the office.

What is your key piece of advice for someone applying?

No one is better at being you than you, so be yourself and don’t be afraid to stand out.
