Christopher Hedley

Christopher is responsible for all the occupier and management products at IPD. He founded IPD Occupiers in 1994 and has overseen its growth and development since then. The Occupier team is now the market leader in the field of performance measurement for occupiers with records for over 60 million square metres of space from 1,000 estates in UK, Ireland and France including costs, space, user satisfaction, sustainability and building operability indicators for the Civil Estate of the UK Government. IPD Occupiers also publishes the IPD Global Estate Measurement Codes, including the award-winning International Total Occupancy Cost Code and the forthcoming Environment and Space Codes. He is also in charge of product development for a range of manager services including analysis or income quality, the environment, lease information and shopping centres.



Charlotte Eddington

CB Richard Ellis: Group Head, Energy & Sustainability, Corporate Advisory Services

Charlotte is a Director in CB Richard Ellis’ Global Corporate Services department and heads up the Energy & Sustainability Group. Charlotte specialises in energy project investment & corporate environmental sustainability strategies Recent projects have included the following:

  • Due diligence and commercial advice for a large wind farm portfolio investment project
  • Environmental sustainability master planning for a large regeneration project
  • Corporate environmental sustainability guidance
  • Supply chain advice for large biomass combined heat and power plant
  • Negotiations for wind farm leases on behalf of developers and land owners

Her various roles have encompassed numerous disciplines inclusive of financial, legal, planning and strategic advice and conducting commercial activities on behalf of the client in line with corporate strategies, acquisitions and disposals. Charlotte has a BSc (Hons) in Land Management from the University of Reading, is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv).



Ken Smith

Bureau Veritas: Sustainability and Risk Director, Environmental Management

Ken has over 15 years experience in the field of corporate responsibility and risk management. He has extensive experience and qualifications in environmental management, sustainable development, organisational development and knowledge management. Ken has developed and integrated strategies across complex organisations, conducted numerous stakeholder consultation exercises, and delivered training and awareness raising courses.



Ray Wilson

Barclays: Risk, Safety and Environment Director for Global Retail & Commercial Bank Corporate Real Estate Services

Ray Wilson is Risk, Safety & Environmental Director for Barclays Global Retail & Commercial Banking (GRCB) - Corporate Real Estate Services and is accountable for Governance, Risk, Safety & Environmental Compliance across GRCB’s global property portfolio.  This includes:

  • Responsibility for developing and implementing business governance, risk and compliance Management Systems that deliver Operational Stability and Effectiveness for the Global Property Portfolio;
  • Provision of Primary Stakeholder and Communications Management for Premises-related Risk and Group Governance Requirements;
  • Provision of strategic and operational support in Governance, Risk and Compliance to GRCB’s Property and Business Risk Partners, and Group Risk Functions; and
  • Provision of strategic leadership in Safety, Health & Environmental management.

Ray joined Barclays in 1999 as Technical Services Manager, following 17 years at IBM in a number of roles.



Nita Patel

Barclays: Environmental sustainability manager

She manages the direct impacts of the bank’s operations – which means mitigating the impact of our own operations and the indirect ones, for example those of our suppliers.  She is also responsible for implementing the Barclays Climate Action Programme, a strategy which involves managing projects which will reduce the CO2 emissions produced by Barclays.

Nita's role extends to providing internal consultancy to areas of the business responsible for developing new products and services and to act as a key communicator to cascade Barclays position on the environment and climate change to internal and external audiences.
