Supporting London and Londoners through our actions in the community.
Engaging with the Community
As a leading global business, CBRE has implemented numerous ways for employees to give either time or money to good causes – right across the globe. In addition to participating in UK wide initiatives, the Central London team is proud to pledge ongoing support to a number of charitable initiatives and to engage with the wider community across the capital and Greater London region.
Supporting London and Londoners
We recognise that it’s important to strike a balance between achieving success for major clients and helping individuals to maximise their personal opportunities, as well as to encourage employees to take on individual and team challenges.
The Central London team has chosen to support Haven House Children’s Hospice, based in Woodford Green, as the team's nominated charity for the year. Haven House cares for children and young people who have life-limiting conditions and who are unlikely to reach adulthood. The Hospice provides short break, palliative and end-of-life care, as well as non-clinical support that includes daily activities, a toy home loan scheme, and support for siblings.
The Central London team recently embarked on their annual ski trip with over 80 members of the department in attendance. This year's trip wasn't just about skiing, but an opportunity to continue to raise money for Haven House Children’s Hospice. Enjoying the surroundings and coming up with some innovative fancy dress, a total of over £4,500 was raised through the generosity of the donations.
We are delighted to be supporting such a fantastic cause and are looking forward to organising further events to raise awareness of the great work that the charity undertakes and to raise important funds to assist the charity in its work.
Property Peak Challenge
On Thursday 23 February, CBRE sponsored Land Aid’s annual Property Peak Challenge. The event involved 300 people racing up 888 steps to the 37th floor of the iconic Heron Tower.
One of our very own CBRE teams had the fastest time in getting to the top of the building, including:
David Fraser 5m 23s
Oliver Knight 5m 25s
Luke Appleby 5m 27s
Other Central London participants included Dan Roberts, Dan Hanmer, Dave Perowne, Rebekah Tobias, Anna Biggin, Gavin Kamara, Miles Skinner, Johnny Lee and Simon Pettinati.
Funds raised by the event will support LandAid and The Chartered Surveyors Charitable Trust in their work with disadvantaged young people.
