Energy & Sustainability

Our Energy & Sustainability network provides clients with a strategic approach to align property strategy to best practice energy efficiency & environmental strategy

Consuming fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is the main greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming. As an occupier of buildings we can manage our energy consumption and thus minimise our emissions.

What have we already achieved?

Our London offices, in their successful effort to gain the ISO 140001 certification, is leading the way in our efforts to reduce emissions. Amongst a raft of other measures:

  • We have developed site energy management plans for each office in the UK, and have set a 5% reduction target for 2008.
  • Put in place accurate data and regular reporting about emissions from our offices including: gas, electricity, water and oil.
  • Undertaken independent energy audits at our offices and, have a programme to install low energy lighting throughout the offices.

What are our plans?

In the near future all our regional offices will follow suit. We will also:

  • Run a proactive and high profile internal campaign to encourage our people to get involved with energy saving initiatives such as switching off computers, printers, photocopies and the like.
  • Consider taking part in high quality, carbon off-set schemes as a last resort.
