Given the pressure on many people’s time, giving some of it to a good cause should be made as easy as possible. When it is possible we are happy to allow for time off, sabbaticals and exchanges that support the charitable or community activities our people are involved in.
Read some of our recent stories:
The Barnardos school at Freagarrach, Scotland
Freagarrach works with young people (aged between 12 and 18 years old) and their families from both Stirling and Clackmannanshire. The project aims to make a difference to their lives by reducing, and ultimately stopping, their offending behaviour and substance misuse.
In August 2007, employees from our Edinburgh offices embarked on the challenging task of building a patio at Freagarrach. The ‘Green Fingers’ event involved digging up waste ground, building a patio and adding various colourful features to it.
Lecropt Barnados School, Scotland
In November 2006, members from the Scottish offices gave up their valuable time to give the dining/gymnasium/assembly room at Lecropt Barnados a much-needed makeover – the room hadn’t seen a lick of paint for years so the volunteers had their work cut out.
A £1000 donation towards materials from the Charitable Trust proved more than sufficient; the surplus was spent on equipment for other areas of the school.
