Location

The site lies approximately 3km to the south of Chorley Town Centre within a well established private residential area. The recently constructed Myles Standish Way runs along the site's southern boundary and provides access to the site via a purpose-built spur road.

Description

The site, which is broadly flat and triangular in shape, extends to a total of 17.7 acres and comprises the former United Utilities Training and Conference Centre which was closed in 2006 and is now being demolished. The whole site was granted consent for Residential and B1 Offices in December 2008 (see below). The residential portion of the site extends to approximately 11.6 acres located to the west of the site with the office element of the scheme located to the east.

Town Planning

The site was granted outline planning consent for Residential and B1 Office uses on 23 December 2008 (08/01044/OUTMAJ) by Chorley Borough Council. The residential element is based on an illustrative layout for 200 residential units and is subject to compliance with a S106 Agreement between United Utilities and Chorley BC.
