We use our expertise to help our clients deliver viable developments which satisfy the many competing demands placed on them through the planning system

Environmental Planning and Assessment

Every day, we help major developers get their projects through the planning system as smoothly as possible. We keep their projects on track by assessing, advising on and planning for environmental issues from inception through to operation. We liaise seamlessly with your teams and with local authorities and regulators, minimising costs and delays over the lifetime of projects.

And when we need specialist advice – on anything from newts to archaeological deposits – we call on our extensive network of expert consultants to keep your project moving.

We offer a number of different environmental project management and co-ordination services to clients from a broad range of sectors.

Overview of our services

Our in-house team has a strong track record of helping to deliver planning consents for complex sites and developments requiring Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). We offer a complete, efficient and expert service that time after time protects our clients from unnecessary cost and delay, and allows authorities to make quick, well-informed decisions.

Even when a project doesn’t require EIA, we can help to draft documentation and manage and review the work of technical consultants as part of the planning application. This can cover areas including population and socio-economics, ecology and biodiversity, geoenvironmental, flood risk, archaeology and built heritage, transport, noise and vibration, air quality and odour, landscape, townscape and visual effects – as well as sunlight, daylight, overshadowing and wind.

We also provide these services:

  • Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA)
  • Sustainability Appraisal (SA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)
  • Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA)
  • Marine licensing
  • Reviewing and discharging planning conditions
  • Construction and post-construction environmental management and monitoring
